René Prévost, son of Prevost’s founder Eugène Prévost, grew up immersed in his father's world of creativity and craftsmanship. From a young age, he was always by his father’s side, running around the workshop, tinkering with wood, and building projects.
As an adult, René often spoke of his father to those he met, sharing stories of Eugène’s legacy. However, in telling these stories, René came to realize that there were many details and experiences—especially from those who worked closely with his father—that he and others had yet to uncover.
“I’m going to write a book so everyone will know about him.”
René Prévost

Once he retired, he set himself the goal of paying homage to his father and documenting his story. Over the course of 15 years, René conducted interviews, asked countless questions, and gathered stories from those who knew Eugène. His research culminated in an almost 800-page biographical narrative that unveiled insights about his father and helped others understand his story.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, René was present to sign copies of his second book, 100 Years of Innovation, which relates the remarkable achievements of Eugène Prévost and includes archival photos and first-person testimony. His dedication to uncovering his father’s history not only brought the past to light but also helped the family to recreate Eugène’s first coach, lovingly named "Clarisse."
René’s efforts have woven together the Prévost family’s history with the company’s legacy, preserving the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship for future generations to discover.
