History Highlights
2000 - 2009

The 2000s

The internet reached 25% of the world's population, and millions of users adopted email, browsed YouTube, and connected on Facebook, defining the 2000s as a time of globalization and faster, broader communication. In 2004, Volvo Buses (or Volvo Bus Corporation) became the sole owner of Prevost Car, Inc.

Gaétan Bolduc rose through the ranks from operations to engineering to become president (2004–2015), focusing on production excellence and elevating the company to new heights and market dominance. The company's reputation as a leader in the North American coach market and as a provider of premier service and support expanded with the growth of its service network across North America.

Throughout the decade, model updates were a significant focus, as the company released innovations while maintaining the tried-and-true reliability it was known for. The XLII received a front-end update in 2004, and the H-Series was relaunched with front-end improvements in both 2002 and 2009.

In 2000, the LeMirage was redesigned and remarketed as the XLII. The new model retained the trademark curved side windows, now frameless and bonded, and featured a fully-paintable exterior.
