CAPITOL TOURS CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF TRAVELING WITH PREVOST®

February 14, 2017, (Sainte Claire, QC) – Capitol Tours, a family-owned motorcoach tour company serving the state of South Carolina, recently marked 30 years of partnering with Prevost. And to celebrate, the company took delivery of a brand new X3-45 coach in December. This brings their total number of Prevost coaches to eight.
“We’ve been in business since 1981, and we’ve been fortunate to be a Prevost customer for 30 of those years,” says Buddy Young, who co-owns Capitol Tours with his wife, Mary. “They have been excellent to work with and have taken very good care of us. Plus, they build a great coach that our customers love.”
Capitol Tours provides charter services to local businesses, primary and secondary schools, and universities. They also carry local military personnel as a U.S. Department of Defense-certified carrier.
The Youngs usually purchase a new Prevost coach every two years, rotating each vehicle through three distinct stages over a 10- to 15-year period. First, coaches start out in the highway market, serving corporate travelers and seniors. After roughly five years, the interior is refurbished, and the coach moves to the school and university market, where it carries students on sports and field trips throughout the Southeast. After several more years and another refurb, the coach transitions to the local market, servicing local airports and other destinations within a 100-mile radius.
The order for Capitol Tours’ new X3-45 was placed in August 2016, and the company’s 22 employees expected the coach would arrive sometime before the end of the year. But they were surprised when the coach was delivered on Dec. 21, right in the middle of their employee Christmas lunch.
“Everyone knew it was in the works, but no one was expecting it to come that day,” Young recalls. “Having it arrive during our lunch was the perfect Christmas present for everyone.”
“The Youngs are a joy to work with and we have great appreciation for their business over the last three decades. We were happy to help in surprising their employees with the new coach delivery,” said Prevost’s VP North American Sales, Jack Forbes.
Unlike a traditional X3-45, which seats 55, the Youngs’ new coach was configured with only 50 seats, providing even more legroom in the already spacious cabin environment. The coach also features plush, luxury seats; individual climate control settings; and 110 volt outlets at each seat.
“We always say that we provide our customers with good, quality service at a fair price,” Young says. “And Prevost does the same for us. That builds loyalty, and that’s why we keep coming back year after year!”
